In 2014, our boys decided to follow in their parents footsteps by starting their own business. At the ages of 8, 8, and 10, they purchased three, non-halter-broke ponies. With the help of my husband and me, they taught them ground work and extensive desensitization. They rode them in the arena, down the road, over logs, and through pastures and water. They used them for work and play.

They were hooked. The boys continue to use these skills with new ponies. When we feel confident in the ponies, the boys offer them to to their next home.

I posted on Facebook a photo of one of their ponies and its new young owners with the following comment:
"People often ask me how we can sell our animals or if the boys struggle. I feel like this photo is one of many that explain it without words. We fall in love with all of our animals, but passing that on is an even more amazing feeling. I explained that to the boys when I asked them if they wanted to start training and selling. After their first pony sold, they understood. There are tears still (usually more mine, lol), but you should see the boys smile when they hear stories or see photos. Priceless!!!!"

KOCHY (cookie) - SOLD
2011 | 45" |  pony mare

The boys purchased this mare as a 3-year-old to break and train. They ride her all over - moving cattle in the pasture, through the river and trees, to roping the hot heels and tracking cattle in the arena. They also have shown her at the fair for 2 years. She has no bad habits and knows how to do ground work.

Kochy is being offered FOR SALE at the Central Livestock Catalog Horse Sale in Hutchinson, KS on Saturday, May 6, 2017.

note - her age was estimated by her teeth when we first purchased her

FLICKER - SOLD
2013 | 51" | non-registered Haflinger mare

The boys purchased Flicker at the end of her yearling year. Like the rest of the ponies, she has been ridden everywhere. She is an incredible pony with a great personality! In the arena, the boys track cattle and rope the hot heels off of her. In the pasture she's been through tight spots, thick trees, water and more. Plus she's been shown in 4-H. She's very willing to do whatever you ask. She's very accurate in her pivots and spins. She also side passes, works gaits, and is very smooth. Plus, she's stout enough that many adults can ride her.

MAPLE - SOLD
2006 | 50" | Mare

The boys had their eyes on this pony for a few years! She belonged to one of their dad's horseshoeing clients. They rode along with him so they could ride her around the pen she was in with a halter while their dad worked. Finally, the day came when the owner decided it was time for the boys to own her and make her one of their projects. She is also a driving pony!

She is a very quiet pony that can sit for awhile and still be rode. She's a roping pony, pasture pony, cart pony, and a riding lesson pony.

The boys got her late Fall in 2016. Videos of her roping are coming soon.

note - her age was estimated by her teeth when we first purchased her
